Public Statement from EDPACIF (Ecuador) to all our valued Customers

To All Our Valued Customers:

Although we have not been officially informed about any issues in our products, we have learned through press and media that Chinese Customs has announced the detection of non-contagious coronavirus nucleic acid traces (remnants of a dead virus) on the outer packaging of two of our boxes. The inner packaging and the product itself have tested negative for coronavirus.

Empacadora del Pacifico S.A has worked since its beginnings with the strictest food safety protocols and has implemented additional measures since the beginning of 2020 to ensure the health of our employees and our product’s quality and safety, including:

Temperature control of all individuals entering our processing factory
Onsite testing.
lntensive Sanitation and Cleaning Procedures throughout our facility.
Requirement of our employees to use masks and practice social distancing.
Reduction of personnel by 50 % per shift to achieve social distancing.
Disinfection of all vehicles that enter our facility including containers.
UV disinfection of our master cartons and empty containers.
24 Hour Medical Assistance on Site by qualified professionals.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration put out a statement that was reinforced by the CDC, WHO, European Food Safety Agency, and the National Fisheries lnstitute stating there is no known transmission of coronavirus from “food or food packaging” and there is “no reason to be concerned” about the virus passing this way.
